Meet Don Driehaus

Don Driehaus

Don Driehaus, “the eldest son of a prominent West Side political family,” officially launched his campaign for Cincinnati City Council in June 2025.

“We have a lot to be proud of in Cincinnati,” he told The Enquirer as he officially launched his effort. “But on the other hand, there’s a lot of room for improvement.”

Don grew up in suburban Green Township and graduated from Elder High School. Driehaus is now a 65-year-old retired investment professional who previously ran for council in 1995. Reflecting on that first campaign:

“Every 30 years you should run for city council, whether you need to or not,” he said this week.

In that earlier campaign, the article notes he promoted “a dome over what was then Paul Brown Stadium.”

“It’ll bring a Super Bowl to Cincinnati,” he said then.

“We’re a big metropolitan region,” he said. “We need to act like one.”
